Family life can be wonderful, messy, exhausting and downright challenging, sometimes all in the same day.
You can love your children deeply and still feel overwhelmed, frustrated, unsure of yourself or simply worn out. There can be so much to hold: children, work, relationships, family, worries, expectations and the never-ending mental load.
Sometimes you know exactly what you're struggling with. Other times, you just know you don't quite feel like yourself anymore.
Counselling gives you somewhere to slow things down, talk honestly about what's happening and start making sense of what you need.
Support for you, your parenting and your relationships
Parenting doesn't happen separately from the rest of life. What you're experiencing as a parent can affect how you feel within yourself, your relationship and your family.

Counselling that starts with you
I'm not here to tell you how to parent, what decisions you should make or what your life or relationships should look like.
I want you to feel that you can be honest with me about how things really are. I'll listen, ask questions and help you explore what's happening, what might be contributing to it and what could help.
My approach combines emotional support with practical strategies. Person-centred counselling is at the heart of how I work, and I also draw on Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Children and families are a world I know well, both personally and professionally. I understand that you can love your children deeply and still find parenting really hard. You can want to be there for your family while also needing something for yourself.

Hi, I'm Julie
I'm a counsellor and mum of four, and I'm passionate about supporting parents not only through the ups and downs of raising children, but through all the other things that can shape how life feels along the way.
My professional background is in education, with many years spent working alongside children, teenagers and families, particularly supporting children with social and behavioural challenges.
As a mum of four very different children, including neurodivergent children, I also know personally that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting.
I want counselling to be somewhere you can feel heard and understood, make sense of what's happening and work out what feels right for you.

You deserve support too
You don't have to have everything worked out before you reach out. You might simply need someone to listen. You may want to understand yourself or your relationships better, or you're ready to work out what could help.
Ultimately, I want to help you feel more connected to yourself and the people who matter to you, more confident in your own decisions and able to make room for yourself too.
If you'd like to see whether I might be the right counsellor for you, you're welcome to book a free 15-minute call.
